Finding hope! Whatever lays before us, ours is a journey to discover alone. With its ebbs and flows, we learn to be buoyant. Sometimes we may feel overwhelmed and drowning in despair. Other times we summit great obstacles.
What is it, inside each of us, that gives us that drive to continue on, against all odds? For myself, I know we all have a purpose to fulfill. And sometimes that purpose is for the benefit of someone we may not know. Learning what my purpose was came as a surprise many years ago when a friend told me I was doing it by being of service. I had naturally fallen into it, which is what gives me my joy. That and music and nature.
Now, back to hope. In these troubling times, it gives me assurance watching the resistance, the protesters. I just read, on a progressive site, kids ages 12-25 are “showing up,” lots of them, asking good, thoughtful questions at all levels of government. Not like days in the not so distant past, information and “facts” can be found. Kids are smart in the new age of electronics, when given the tools and proper instructions to discover on their own. Teach them well!
What do you do to keep hope afloat? What’s your go to place?
Nature, whether the beach, the mountains or a walk through a park, it clears my head and my heart. Mother Earth, You never cease to amaze.
