In the September issue of Woman’s Day magazine, there is an article of “Women Who Inspire, Stories of Hope & Courage.”

One story, in particular, touched my soul; The Ultimate Caregiver. Trailblazer Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins is just that. Most of us are at an age when we have a special person in our life who needs professional care-givers. We can’t be all things to all people and it is okay to find support for them and ourselves by finding affordable, compassionate, skilled services. Technology is making this easier.
Phaedra created Honor, a technology based company that uses a website and app to pair professional caregivers who need a hand. This came out of her determination to help her grandmother age with dignity and grace in her own home for as long as she can. One such service for her is a care professional who comes every Sunday to braid her hair and get her dressed for church. They also honor their care providers by making them employees, with higher wages and benefits. Everyone is a winner.
Sometimes life itself gives the inspiration for my posts. This one is for those struggling with finding help for themselves and their loved ones. And, of course, to inspire hope.
Honor Inc., https://www.joinhonor.com/, has lots of helpful information to peruse, in case you have questions about the care of a loved one.
