Hope and US!

My morning prayer every day for myself and the world. Hope! If I don’t “feel it” I look for it. I have many reliable sources. Music and humor are my back up plans as is looking back through my 7 years of posts. The sentiments here are the same as when I wrote it a few years ago. We’ve barely moved the needle and we need hope as much as ever. Hope…..it is you, it is me. It is WE!

A short post today as I am busy with other things. People look and feel lost, so what comes to mind is hope in the face of so much destruction and loss. It’s what makes the world go round. HOPE! Be inspired. Be the one who steps up for others. This is how to heal ourselves and others.

Poems of Hope

When I googled this, lots of options came up.

Emily Dickenson’s opening lines of her poem Hope is as follows:
“Hope” is the thing with feathers –
That perches in the soul –
And sings the tune without the words –
And never stops  – at all –

Thomas Hardy’s “Song of Hope” starts as:
 O sweet To-morrow! –
After to-day
There will away
This sense of sorrow
Then let us borrow
Hope, for a gleaming
Soon to be streaming
    Dimmed by no gray –
    No gray!

Gray skies are here, but blue skies tomorrow –

I picked these two as simple reminders that hope is inside of us, that the gray will lift. If you can’t muster up your own, look for it. It’s everywhere. It’s being part of the solution instead of part of the problem. Everyone suffers at times in their lives. Sometimes a simple phone call can lift you up. Sometimes a visit from a friend can. It takes work to stay on top of the suffering around us. It also takes community, knowing we are all in this together. With all that we are facing at this moment in time, this is where we can shine, where we can make a difference. Hope…..it is you, it is me. It is WE!
