Oz, The Great and Powerful
(to be continued, sequel in the works)
[When shady circus magician Oscar Diggs (James Franco) is hurled away from Kansas into the wonderful land of Oz, he thinks that fame and fortune are his for the taking. However, three witches — Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams) — remain unconvinced that Oscar is the great wizard that the inhabitants of Oz need and expect. Reluctantly drawn into Oz’s epic problems, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it’s too late.]
I liked it! I wanted more of the story and this prequel gave it to me in a satisfying way. Maybe it was the new technologies of modern film, maybe it was the cast, the sets and costumes. Disney didn’t disappoint. And I was glad to hear of a sequel to the prequel. Maybe it’s because it keeps the memory alive of the time I visited Oz. Even without Dorothy and her cohorts in this story, I do know it continues to give me hope and “everyday” courage!
Tell me your story of inspiration!
Sequel plot: Oscar and Glinda have their first born child named Olivia. They don’t tell Olivia that an evil spell has been cast on her by someone she never knew.
