In Greek mythology, the Amazons were a tribe of warrior women, daughters of Ares, god of war, related to the Scythians and Sarmatians, both of whom are considered Iranian peoples. While doing research for the Eagle Huntresses in Mongolia, the two meet.

My introduction to Amazonian women came with the television show “Wonder Woman.” Although that venue somewhat tamed her and instead of empowering girls, it captivated the boys, the new DC Comics movie has resurrected her status.

“Wonder Woman is psychological propaganda for the new type of woman who should, I believe, rule the world,” declared the psychologist and comic book writer William Moulton Marston, offering a proto-feminist vision that undoubtedly sounded quite radical in 1943. “Not even girls want to be girls so long as our feminine archetype lacks force, strength and power. Not wanting to be girls, they don’t want to be tender, submissive, peace-loving as good women are.”

Even though Amazon women have lived in myth, new archeological discoveries have uncovered new truths. Since 1996 burial mounds have been found in what is now Kazakhstan, and which held what now is believed that of a high ranking woman warrior. However the “bones” mysteriously disappeared because the original “flat chested, trouser-ed youth was deemed male, at first, and the Kazakh’s national treasure would be otherwise disturbed changing it from male to female. Burial mound skeletons have been measured at more than 2 meters, or close to seven feet.

Amazonian women were only 5’6” on average. However, when you stand tall, you appear taller than you are. Confident warrior women were not the norm. The Greeks were intimidated by them and wrote far-fetched tales, calling them “one-breasted” a-mazdos, a made up name for their fearsome use of bowstrings.

The entire ancient Greek stories have given new rise to old myths with new discoveries which pre-date civilization much farther back to before the great flood and to Atlantis and to Lemuria/Mu, in the Pacific Ocean (not Indian Ocean). Plato and the scribes of the early bible recorded it. Unexplained technologies existed; societies co-existed…until the ego of man fell from the grace of Creator. It is said that the Atlanian’s were male dominated, whereas Lemuria remained balanced lands where women were revered. Their myths and artifacts are the same throughout the entire Pacific region from Australia, all of Polynesia, western South America islands, Hawaii….and beyond.

Without going “out-on-a-limb,” much more on these discoveries are underway.

This became a battle of aggressive ego and balanced calm. And here we are still. And this is why the balancing effect of feminine energy is on the rise and why it is being felt by everyone being awoken. Our planet is again in desperate need of healing. The most important lesson I’ve learned is of the light. Focus on it. The more we do, the more it brightens and heals.

Namaste!
