Wicked delivered Goodness

This is a perfect post to end the year and to usher in a new one. I went to see Wicked For Good yesterday. I needed it for my own “pick me up.” For myself, holding my own and knowing I have to show up over the next few months. But for now, it’s about keeping the faith and using our true power.
Knowing the Oz history, this new continuation is enchanting. The music, I love musicals, especially with powerhouse stars who sing. What I liked about this finale of Wicked is how it brought in the origin stories of the Tin Man, Scarecrow and Lion and other aspects that tied it all in, with Glinda the Good now at the helm. It had it all, flying monkey’s, tornados, Dorothy’s house crashing onto Elphaba’s sister, unrequited love….dots connected.

Some plot twists I didn’t see coming and some storylines too. It’s in the Oz world of hope and strong women. I might need to try reading the book again, now that I know the origin story. My first try at reading it only confused me. This film gave it the context I needed.
There are lots of reviews online. I am just a messenger and I hope inspires you to find your own meaning of the film. It inspires me to “keep the faith” and knowing how to use my own power without loosing myself in the process. It emphasizes that truth, justice, courage and the love are always the way to our true power. The subtleties are everywhere without being political. Take what you need from it. Bottom line, it is entertainment. I like mine with heart!
Now demonized as the Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba lives in exile in the Ozian forest, while Glinda resides at the palace in the Emerald City, reveling in the perks of fame and popularity. As an angry mob rises against the Wicked Witch, she’ll need to reunite with Glinda to transform herself, and all of Oz, for good. Wikipedia
